BATTERIES
The European
text 91/157/CEE from March 18, 1991, related to batteries and accumulators
containing dangerous material have the objective to accord European members.
In France, since January 1st, 2001, batteries have to be collected.
Batteries
are made with metals, which have to be treated in special centers : zinc,
manganese, mercury

Our
technology is innovating and clean to the environment
:
Treatment
:
After a sorting by nature, saline, alkaline
batteries
which represent around 80% in
weight of batteries in the market are crushed.
Metal carcass and joints are separated mechanically.
Zinc, manganese, mercury
are placed in oven for a thermal treatment
under vacuum.
Recycling
:
Metallic
elements are recycled by metal companies.
A hydrometallurgical process yields an ore valorizes rich in manganese,
zinc
Button batteries could have more than 30% mercury by weight. We
recycle them in our installation with the same process.
After sorting,
lithium and nickel-cadmium batteries are sent to specialized recycling
companies.
Collection
:
Duclos Environnement works with regional collectors
who propose a full service, with containers and collection.
